Visit by the Hon Kerry Sanderson, AO Governor of Western Australia We were very privileged to have the Governor and her official party join us for dinner on Tuesday 28 July at Gulliver’s Tavern. After some initial hiccups (ie. nothing in their glasses to toast with – eek!) – the Governor settled into the evening. Questions were asked of Rotarians (and guests) as to what our Club was doing within the community and we also took the opportunity to share our Timor Leste project. The Governor provided us with an informative talk about the things she most enjoys about being Governor and then tossed the coins for heads and tails (which she won!) and drew the raffle. The Governor presented the Club with a 40 year calendar as a gift. At the Governor’s request, we all stood to advise who we were, what we did and how long we had been in Kununurra. Frank stole the show with his announcement that ‘working at the airport was the best place to be as you got to check out all of the new nurses and teachers that arrived into town’ – lucky Jackie! After a photo, we bid her and the official party farewell.
